One Thing Prayer #2

Hi guys,

We had a wonderful prayer the last time we met at Vision Valley Centre!  Seriously, 5 hours of prayer refreshes your souls in ways we cannot comprehend! We had almost 60 views on our webstream and that was an encouragement to those of us physically there!

We are having it again this coming Saturday at the same place and from 7pm – 9pm. Please come and join us in worship and prayer. If you aren’t able to come physically, do stream it from our webstream and let the Lord work on your heart as we lift up our voices in unity and worship Him!

Venue : Vision Valley Centre
(No. 28b Jalan 19/3, Section 19, Petaling Jaya, (Above Nanking Court
Vegetarian Restaurant and on the way to SS2 from the Rothmans roundabout)
Time : 7pm – 9pm

Blessings,
MarcusDS

One Thing Prayer Meeting

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my lovely ones!

We will be kicking off a fortnightly (once every two weeks) prayer meeting called One Thing Prayer Meeting (based on Psa 27:4). Please come and tell your other PK friends about it. At the moment, it is specifically for PKs and MKs.

Come join us for a time of soaking in His presence and sitting at His feet. Just like what we did at camp!

Here is the FB Event page. Please respond whether you will be coming! =)

God bless,
MarcusDS

Pre-Camp Briefing #3

Good die mates!

This will be a short one. This post is about the game “Fulfillers and Dreamers”.

As the last post stated, we will be playing this game all through camp. It will start after briefing on Thursday the 15th and end right before lunch on Saturday the 17th. If you are one of those going back early on Saturday, we’ll figure something out.

The Game : Fulfillers and Dreamers
Difficulty : Easey Peasey Lemon Squeezy
How to play :
1) Each camp participant will randomly pick a piece of paper with another campers name written on it.
2) Some form of record will be taken.
3) The Fulfiller has to treat their Dreamer with extra attention and extra TLC without being found out.
4) The Dreamer has to try to guess who his/her Fulfiller is.
5) On the last day, all will be revealed.

Told you lemon squeezy! =)

Practical ideas on how to treat your Dreamer

The easiest way to be a nice Fulfiller is to shower your Dreamer with gifts. However, as you will only be able to “adopt” a Dreamer at camp itself, here are some gift (and other) ideas for all you Fulfillers:

a)  All things fluffy and pink.
Steer clear from gender specific gifts or anything-specific for that matter. It is better to be safe than sorry. If you buy something feminine and your Dreamer is a guy… :S . So don’t get a pedi-mani set, or girly items in girly colours. Like pink unicorns (Ugh!).

Please don’t get your Dreamer a T-Shirt. (*Hint: Guys, getting a girl the wrong size may offend her. O who am I kidding?! You will DEFINITELY offend her!) A notepad, bookmarks or maybe even a book works fine.

b) Less is more.
You are not required to get a RM88 Starbucks notebook for your Dreamer. But please don’t get the 20sen 555 notebooks! They don’t even qualify as notebooks. You can’t even use them in the loo if you run out of tissue!

A gift ranged between RM10 – RM20 is enough.

c) Quality, NOT quantity.
You DON’T have to buy the entire Memory Lane store. You also don’t need to prepare a hamper of gifts. One or two gifts will do. You’d be surprised, but a well-thought and well-written ( encouraging, NEAT and READABLE) card sometimes brings more encouragement than a gift.

Notes and cards are perfect as well. Just don’t give all notes (cheapskate)! The principle of the Kingdom is you get to keep what you give away. =) Again, steer clear of lacy and scented cards and whatnot.

d) TLC = Tender, Loving, Care.
Gifts are not the only way to show your affection and care for your Dreamer. Making sure they get their dessert, or an extra cup of coffee or even a place to sit at meal times are perfect ways of showing you care for your Dreamer. Make them feel appreciated and cared for in whatever way you can.

Yes, I am a hopeless romantic. 😉

e) What comes around goes around.
Dreamers! You can reciprocate your Fulfillers love by shouting out a “Thank You” with help from the MCs, Worship Leaders or Camp Committee (NOTE: This may only be done BEFORE sessions. Once a session has started, it’s back to business as usual!)

To those leaving early (Friday or Saturday), make sure you are EXTRA nice to your Dreamers in the time that you have. And likewise to those of you who are the Fulfillers for the Dreamers leaving earlier than everyone else. Let’s make this an enjoyable experience shall we? =)

FYI, Fulfiller is not a grammatically correct word, but still, it fits our camp nicely. 😎 Also, to add to the suspense, we will  only let you guys in on the details DURING the briefing itself.

That’s a wrap folks.

OOH! Before I forget. For the sake of everyone (AND I MEAN EVERRYONEE):

NO MORE PULL-OUTS PULEEZE!

Pre-Camp Briefing #2

Hi guys!

We have only 504 hours till camp! Excited?

In this post, we will be covering a few things. So here goes.

NUMERO UNO
After a discussion with our organizers, we have decided that the Water Park is OFF LIMITS altogether. This is to avoid any mishaps and unwanted hassle. Our schedule is PACKED to the max and we want everyone to have sufficient rest to allow maximum absorption of what the camp has to offer.

I repeat, we are not giving our consent to anyone to visit the Water Park. Instead, we will be having some activities so don’t worry about getting bored! Those who choose to visit the Water Park anyway directly violate the desires of our organizers and though no serious disciplinary action will be taken against them, but those who DO violate any rule and regulation stated in the camp booklet and the hotel will be barred from future PK related events. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!

NUMERO DOS
In order to cut costs, our workshops have been reduced from the initial 8 to 4. That means each camper gets to choose only ONE/SATU/UNE/YI/YAT/JIT/1 workshop. So we need you guys to decide again. Please choose your workshop and email them in to -> admin.kw@necf.org.my

The shortened list of workshops are:

1)   PKs in leadership and conflict management

2)  Hearing God and Intimacy

3)  Discovering your Gifting

4)  Special session for 13 and 14 year olds.

*NOTE: If you are 13 or 14 years old, we will automatically place you in workshop 4, SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EMAIL IN ANYTHING.

NUMERO TRES
We had an incident of theft last year and so to avoid such an incident this year, please follow the guidelines

Please DO bring:
– Bible
– Pens and pencils
– Clothes to get dirty in
– Presents and gifts (refer to NUMERO CUATRO)
– SOME cash (about RM30 would be fine)
– Clean underwear (Hey, you never know! 😉 )
– Your attention

Please DO NOT bring:
– Laptop (if possible)
– Gameboy/ PSP/ iPad/ iPad2/ Tab
– Nike Air worth RM399
– A whoppin’ BIIGGG Suitcase (it’s a 3D2N camp, NOT a trip to Mt Fuji!)
– Too much junk food
– Poker cards
– Yo Mamma

But seriously, all things in moderation. If it’s likely that you won’t even unpack that item, don’t bring it!

NUMERO CUATRO
We will be playing Angels and Mortals. But because our theme is “Fulfilling Your Dreams”, the Angels will be called Fulfillers and the Mortals will be called Dreamers. Groovey Babey!

So please bring some small, pack-able items that could make good gifts!

That’s a wrap folks! Stay tuned for more in a few weeks!

Pre-Camp Briefing #1

Hello my fellow PKs!

We have a little over 5 weeks till camp! Are you guys excited yet? Well, we are! Over the next 5 weeks, we will try to do some pre-camp briefing so that we will be able to have a smooth camp!

So here is Pre-Camp Briefing Numero Uno! Are ya ready kids?

Pre-Camp Briefing #1

Location : Bukit Gambang Resort City, Kuantan (Pahang) [MAP]
Date : 15th – 17th December 2011
Pick up time and place : 8.30am (Bible College Malaysia Car Park, Jalan Gasing)

NOTE : We advise all those taking the bus service provided from BCM to be there latest by 8am for a final head count. The bus leaves 8.30am sharp and late comers will have to find their own way to Kuantan. If you ticked “YES” in your need transport form, then this is for YOU!

This year, we will be having approximately 154 PKs and MKs representing 5 different nations joining us! God has been good and so far, all our planning has gone smoothly. The camp site is BGRC, and from what I hear, it is a GREAT place to have our camp.

As there will be other camps going on at the same time, it will be crucial that we follow all the rules stated by the organizers and hotel management. There will be a briefing after arriving at the camp site.

Here are some pictures of the camp site:

The accommodation is in the form of apartments. We are arranging 6 to a 2-bedroom apartment (3 in a room). Room mate assignments are done by age so don’t worry about getting a room mate too old or too young.

Boy campers are allowed to visit girl campers at their apartments and vice versa. However, these visits are limited to only the living room area and hall curtains must be drawn! Room doors must also be shut and apartments must be devoid of visitors after 10pm unless a valid reason exists (i.e Prayer). We will take any violation towards this rule very seriously and NO benefit of doubt will be given if any camper is caught in the room of another of the opposite sex. We will call your parents and bar you from joining future PK events. So please take this rule seriously!

The highlight of the Resort City is its Water Park. However due to time constraint, we will not be organizing any activities at the water park. You are however allowed to go to the water park in your own free time (which is sadly, is only from 3pm – 6pm on Friday the 16th.) You must sign up for this extra-camp site activity on Thursday during registration and no last minute requests will be approved. This is for your safety’s sake.

The tickets cost somewhere between RM19 to RM30 depending on peak season. If you are below 18, you MUST have adult supervision (18 years old and above) to enter the Water Park.

We do have our own games planned for those who do not wish to go to the water park and this will take place at the hall we will be using.

That is all for our 1st Pre-Camp Briefing! Watch out for our second. We will tell you what to bring (i.e watch, identification, some cash etc.) and what NOT to bring (i.e kitchen sink, fridge, milk bottles, your mummy etc.)

Here are some extra photos for your viewing pleasure!

Registrations Are Closed!

Mahalo! =)

REGISTRATIONS ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSED! By God’s grace, we have been able to accommodate 153 Pastors’ Kids (not including organizing team and speakers) which is an increase from the initially intended 138!

Please do continue praying for us as we sort out all the administrative tasks. All those in the committee are in college, high school and have full time jobs so it’s going to be a mountain load of work to sort everything out properly so the camp runs smoothly!

To God be all Glory and do check back here for updates!

To all the PKs who are going to the camp, details will be posted here! We will be sending out emails too!

God bless,
MarcusDS

Official Letter From NECF

The Pastor, NECF Member Churches/Organisations

Malaysia

Dear Pastor,

Warm Christian greetings.

We bring you good news that we are able to bless the children of pastors with yet another fully-sponsored retreat this year. The first Pastors’ Kids Retreat last year was attended by over 100 participants. Besides being ministered by anointed speakers, they also found young people of like-mindedness with similar desire to serve the Lord. Thus, the Pastors Kids Fellowship Malaysia (PKFM) was born!

As we do not want to presume on the generosity of the donors for future sponsorships, we encourage you to send your children to participate in this year’s retreat as follows:

Date: 15-17 Dec, 2011 (Thurs – Sat)

Venue: Bukit Gambang Resort City, Kuantan

Speakers: Pastor Gabe Ahn, HRock Church, USA

Cost: Fully sponsored

Kindly refer to the attached brochure for further details.

Thanks and God bless,

Patrick Cheng

Senior Executive Secretary

P.S. While we will be sending the hard copy of the brochure to you in due course, please feel free to use the attached to sign up first as places are limited.
